Marble, Wine & Coastal Dreams: itinerary 🍷

Three days and a journey carved in marble and poured in wine.

Join me for a fascinating rally through the legendary quarries of Carrara — the most un-Tuscan town in Tuscany!

In the surrounding villages of this very unconventional Tuscan province, you will witness where marble truly originates.

From the raw mountain to its many surprising expressions, 👉 we’ll explore how this noble stone shapes the region —not only in sculptures and architecture, but even in wine.

You will discover how it is fermented in marble (!) and taste heroic wines born from this dramatic landscape.

You will trace ancient footsteps of the town once a Roman marble port.

By the sea, Tuscany and Liguria will blend on our plates, before we head to Porto Venere and trek among Cinque Terre’s suspended vineyards.

At sunset, a glass in hand, we will discover that travel is not just about places—it’s about resonance, memory, and the joy of sharing.

We can end our marbleous tour

This is what our itinerary could look like

Day 1
Full day: Carrara, its marble natural cathedrals, and surroundings

• Carrara: its marble, its people.
• Visit to a historic, iconic marble company — workshop and showroom.
• Lunch: @ 👉Extra marbleous restaurant featuring Apuan wines+cuisine.
• Visit to a local winery with tasting (option to purchase wines and PDO products).
• Dinner By the sea, on the border between Tuscany and Liguria, discovering the culinary transition between the two regions.

Day 2 : Ligurian Coast
Morning – Ancient Luni – Porto Venere
Afternoon – Cinque terre

• Visit to the ancient town of Luni.
• Visit to Porto Venere : The “mourning quarries” of D’Annunzio.
• Lunch on site
• Afternoon & Evening Cinque Terre: winery in Volastra.
• 👉 Mini‑trekking to Corniolo among vineyards suspended over the sea with tasting of Cinque Terre wines at sunset on the hillside (weather permitting).
• End in La Spezia for a visit to the producer.

Day 3 :
Evening – Soulful Wine tasting @ the Sommelier’s home
Rest of the day : fully customizable

• Welcome to Nadia’s home — passionate sommelier and guardian of Apuan flavors.
• Friendly introduction and space for sharing.
• Guided tasting of 3 wines paired with traditional small plates.
• Beyond taste: the cultural, emotional, and spiritual dimension of wine.
